Fire & Arson Investigation

The Fire/Arson Investigation Division of the City of Lebanon Fire Department (LFD) has the responsibility of determining the origin and cause of fires within the City of Lebanon. The division’s investigators are sworn firefighters, and they often collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations (TBI). They have the authority to uphold the laws and codes of the State of Tennessee and City Code relating to arson and fire-related crimes. Moreover, they undergo specialized training in identifying, preserving, and presenting evidence to establish the occurrence of arson.
